No More Squatting in Beijing Toilets

Anyone who has ever visited an Asian country, may have seen the public toilets. With that being said, Beijing organizers are refitting the toilets at three main Olympic venues after complaints from foreign athletes about having to squat.

Woman on Toliet Seat for 2 Years

This is too bizarre even for my site. A U.S. woman spent approximately two years sitting on the toilet in her boyfriend's home before he finally called police for help, according to media reports Thursday.

Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who stayed in her boyfriend's bathroom for two years, spending most of her time on the toilet — so that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the man finally called police.

It appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat, said Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple. The woman initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

"We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital," Whipple said. "The hospital removed it."

McFarren said that his girlfriend has an infection in her legs that has damaged her nerves, and that she has no feeling in her legs. She may wind up in a wheelchair, he said.

Authorities said they did not know whether she was mentally or physically disabled.

I feel she probably has some mental disability. What is sad is if someone knows that this is happening an did nothing about it. Not only the boyfriend but the family should have charges against them.
